May clutched the baby blue shawl around her knees nervously, 'Listen", she commanded as she gazed intently out at the black winter sky "They're back".
My idea for this novel is to explore the relationship between Grandmother and Grandaughter whose lives though seperated by many years have many parallels - both single mothers, both intensely proud and both hopeless at adult relationships, their lives criss cross and each becomes dependent on the other for love and comfort with unexpected results.

Kate: First Sentence
The first sentence of my novel is:
It was a dark and stormy night; three robbers sat in a cave.
It's essentially about my life growing up among robbers in a cave in Swindon.
